WORLD‑BUILDER SURFACE‑SHAPER STORY‑MAKER
Scenic Artist • Props Builder • Scenographer
Building worlds from colour, texture, and imagination. Crafting environments that feel alive, warm, and full of story.

About Tara

Scenic and prop artist working in the joyful, tactile language of materials.

I work in the quiet spaces where stories begin, in the grain of a surface, the curve of a sculpted form, the color that breathes life into a world not yet built. My practice lives at the intersection of scenography and material poetry, where paint becomes atmosphere, objects become memory, and the smallest crafted detail can shift a scene's emotional weight.

As a scenic and prop artist, I am drawn to the textures of storytelling: the roughness of a weathered wall, the softness of fabric that has lived a life, the shimmer of light across a surface that invites the audience to feel before they understand. I build environments that hold characters gently, or challenge them, or echo their inner landscapes. Every project is an invitation to listen, to the script, to the collaborators, to the materials themselves.

With a BFA in Scenography from Concordia University, I’ve shaped my artistic voice through drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed‑media fabrication. I’m drawn to the emotional resonance of colour and the expressive possibilities of texture.

My work on productions such as LOAM and GRIEF has deepened my love for collaborative creation. In rehearsal rooms and workshops, I find the rhythm of shared imagination, where ideas pass from hand to hand and become something larger than any one artist. I thrive in these spaces of collective making, where craft becomes connection and the physical world of the performance begins to take shape.
